I didn’t plan on becoming a recruiter.

Before any of this, I spent a year in the Dominican Republic developing an English curriculum from scratch for an elementary school in a barrio of La Vega. No template, no budget, no guarantee it would work. Just a blank page, a mission, and the belief that if you built something strong, it would last. That program is still running.

I came back, went to Apple, and quickly became the consistent top seller in the Southern Mid-Atlantic market. When I started thinking about a move into a more corporate role internally, the feedback I got was direct: I didn’t have the right experience yet. They suggested I go outside Apple, build the skills, and come back.

So I started interviewing. Through a couple of friends, I stumbled into recruiting.

I didn’t know it would be my career until about a year in. There was no single moment. It was the accumulation of them. The engineer who called after landing a role that finally paid him what he was worth. The candidate who told me the new opportunity gave him the freedom to actually be present with his family. The hiring manager who had been stuck for six months and closed a critical position in three weeks. I was genuinely good at this, I enjoyed it, and I felt like I was making a real difference.

What I didn’t expect is where the work would take me.

I joined Blue Signal in February of 2020 and broke the company’s first-year billing record during Covid. I built the technology recruiting capabilities from the ground up, starting with ERP and core IT, and expanded it into a full-spectrum frontier technology practice covering AI infrastructure, foundation models, robotics, physical AI, and agentic systems. I’ve led teams across three countries, placed people in eight countries, earned President’s Club multiple years, and become a paid industry speaker Recruiting Conference.

But the chapter I’m most focused on is the one I’m writing right now.

Since late 2024, I’ve been building the AI systems that power our own practice. Not just adopting tools. Architecting them. I designed and deployed a custom MCP server for our ATS, automated workflows, developed a library of intelligent agents, and led an AI transformation that eliminated significant manual work, improved overall output quality, and cashed-in on annual savings. The roadmap is exciting and the journey has only just begun.

What I’m building toward is the Agentic Recruiting Engine: a platform where intelligent agents handle the sourcing, the qualification, the scheduling, and the admin, so that every recruiter on my team spends their time doing what only humans can do. Building real relationships. Thinking strategically. Helping clients make the most important hires of their company’s life.

I believe in five years, AI will handle the operational layer of recruiting entirely. The firms and recruiters who will win are the ones using this window to become better at the human part. That’s what I’m building toward at Blue Signal, and it’s why I show up every day.
